The Cost of Love

The Cost of Love

Tuesday 14th February 2012

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us,

and sent his Son to be the  propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:10

I’ve never really understood what LOVE  is. People sing about it in songs, they write poems  they send flowers, and cards. None of those things was love in and of itself. In the past love was a word I was so unsure of. When I finally gave my life to Christ,  accepting that I was a sinner  that needed to be saved, it clicked for me.  While I was running around doing all manner of things that were enmity to God and were bringing me shame and self -loathing . Unspeakable things that meant the death penalty as I had broken God’s Royal Law.

He was there watching, waiting, His heart just breaking every time I did wrong. When I learned about His Grace I was brought to my knees.

Grace  Meaning :Unmerited favour.

God had paid the ultimate price, by sending  His son to take my place. It should have been me taking the stripes.

It should have been me wearing a crown of thorns; It should have been me with nails piercing my limbs.

It should have been me hung on that cross. It is nothingless than I deserve.

That is  The Cost of REAL LOVE.

If there is nothingelse you remember after leaving this page remember YOUR worth, Married or unmarried

I Just hope that I can make this LOVE  real in my children’s LIVES as they see me they must see even a little kinship to CHRIST  This year is different , in that in just 12months we have swelled from a family of five to a family of six I wanted to really pull out all the stops and celebrate Love . Love between hubby and me. The Love between Parents and children and that it was my son’s first  Valentine with us here on earth.

Here is a window into a day in our lives.

I scoured the closets for red clothing and got all my supplies together. First up we started the Home  “festivities” Education with prayer then moved swiftly on  to Daddy reading from the love chapter in  the Bible

We then went through the days of the week, the months of the year and todays date and the significance of today

We then watched this short video on the History and Origins of this Pagan  Holiday. We talked about commercialism  and how as Christians we are to be  good stewards and are called to live above the Crowd

We then went on to do colouring in pages for the littlies, word search, crossword puzzles for my eldest

Then these lovely cards

A quick lunch before heading to the local shopping centre to observe how people celebrate it in the UK

We made a game of spotting hearts and flowers in shop windows, Because we had done the groundwork on speaking about  commercialism and we were only there to observe the people around us. We had NO strops.  We then stopped for strawberry dipped in chocolate

then we let the middle girls bungee jump in the middle of the shopping centre.  I wanted to get on but then I wouldn’t have been able to get these perfect shots for you.

Then a quick stop to pick up some art supplies for St. Patricks Day next month(important to plan ahead)

Dinner and bed

I’ll probably post rest of pics next  week. For now here is a taster, a video I uploaded from my android phone

Hope you enjoyed Valentines, Not forgetting the One who loves us all with an everlasting love

Humbly Yours
